16 Weeks

Not much to report this week, feeling good and getting big! I think I can feel my uterus now and am having all kinds of little twinges and "growing pains". Those are the pains I welcome though :)
Next week is my next appointment with Doctor B. Looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again and to scheduling the ultrasound....can't wait! Its hard to believe that in just 3 1/2 more weeks I will be 1/2 way through my pregnancy already. Abel is getting more and more excited everyday. He is so anxious for the arrival already, I told him he has a ways to go! haha.

Thinking about the nursery....

I know it's early but I can't help it. My Mom found the PERFECT nursery design IF its a girl. Check it out!
If it's a boy, we will have to keep looking :)

15 Weeks

15 weeks and feeling pretty good. Luckily, the nausea is pretty much gone except for when I brush my teeth or smell something really bad. However, the headaches are in full force. Tylenol isn't the best but the extra strength is helping alot more and the doctor said it's fine in moderation. I am doing alot better as far as diet goes.....I am eating full meals now and trying to snack on fruits and veggies. I am still having the late night pizza cravings out of nowhere so I stocked up on personal sized frozens just incase, so Abel doesn't have to go to the store at 3am, which I almost made him do last weekend :)
Not much else to report-- Sheyla had her baby boy last week, Christopher Martin Sarabia and he is so cute! I got a full report on labor (this was her first as well) and how difficult the first week is. But, she is doing well now and the baby is great.

Let the cravings begin!

OK, it's week 14 and I had my first middle of the night craving. I woke up at 1:30 craving grape juice and Pizza!! :) I got the grape juice but decided against ordering a pizza that late. So, I had to make a mad dash to get a sausage biscuit before work because I was STARVING. Big change from getting sick and not wanting anything at all to eat. The only other craving I've had was also yesterday after work...I wanted cantelope with salt SO bad. Odd thing is, I HATE cantelope, lol. I have no idea where that came from.
Things are going really well now, just getting bigger and bigger....and looking forward to the ultrasound so we can start the nursery.

What is going on with Baby - week 14

Your baby's body systems are starting to work on their own. The digestive system practices moving food along the intestines and through the renal system and he can create and eliminate urine. He also continues to practice breathing the amniotic fluid in and out of his lungs. Your baby has tiny, soft nails on his fingers and toes, is growing hair and may even suck his thumb. Your baby is approximately 10-11.5 cm (3 ½ -4 inches) and weighs approximately 1.5 ounces.
Also, your baby's blood is beginning to form in the bone marrow and blood vessels are beginning to connect various parts of the fetus to another. The joints and muscles allow your baby full body movement so your baby is able to move around. The baby's neck is getting longer and his chin is no longer resting on his chest. The eyes and ears continue to move into place. The hands are becoming functional and reflex movements often occur. Nourishment now comes from the placenta. Remember, some of what you eat and drink is getting through to your baby. The doctor can tell if your baby is a boy or a girl using special tests.
Amniotic fluid is an amazing substance. It completely regenerates itself every three hours. We do know that it is partially composed of urine from the baby, but where amniotic fluid in general is made we are not sure. Modern medicine still has some surprises left.

13 Weeks!

So I am officially in my second trimester! The doctor appointment went really well yesterday. Dr. B said everything looks great and I am out of the worry zone now :) Abel went with me and we got to hear the heartbeat. I was so nervous because Dr. B said that it might be too early to hear anything, I just knew if I didn't hear it, I would be a worried mess about it. But, after playing around with the doppler for a bit, he found it! It was awesome!!! It wasn't real loud, it was pretty faint but he said that was because its still early. That was all I needed, it was a huge relief to hear it. That appointment has made me feel alot better, confident now that all is well. The bad news is, he is not going to do another ultrasound until "at least 22 weeks". He said that we could always go and do a 3D one, but he wouldn't do it before 22 weeks anyway just to be sure we will find our answer. So, I think we will just wait and do it with him.
I lost another pound, which he says is normal for all of the nausea I had. I just can't figure it out though, I have lost a total of 4 pounds now, yet NONE of my pants fit! He just laughed when I told him that. I guess I must have lost it someplace else and gained it in my belly, lol. Next appointment is the first week of May, just a normal check up and will take bloodwork at that time to test the baby for various things. I can now say that I am ready to sit back, relax and enjoy this pregnancy :)
*Megan and Jeff had their ultrasound yesterday as well and everything looked great. They got to see the heartbeat which they were excited about. Her official due date is November 17th.....so, the babies are "scheduled" to be 39 days apart!
